Trust me, Moms of the world have enough on their shoulders at one time to crush an enraged raid boss. This I know first hand. This week, I wanted to give a little recognition to a fellow geek craftin Mom machine from Moms Basement etsy team that is in need of a little help.
Canada’s Savy Mom Entrepreneur of the Year award is not just bragging rights, its actually something really awesome. This is a contest dedicated to all of the hard working entrepreneurs out there that call themselves Mom. Oh yeah, The prize is $15,000. Yeah, did your jaw drop? ” The 10 mom entrepreneurs who received the most overall votes submitted by visitors to the contest site by September 12, 2011 will be declared the top 10 finalists. From them, our panels of judges will choose the national winner of the 2011 SavvyMom Mom Entrepreneur of the Year Award based on a set of criteria including track record of success, innovation of business idea, and impact on community.” There is no stronger community then the Geek community, right?
“Geekling Designs was inspired by a couple of geeks with a sense of humour. We wanted something unique for our daughter to wear, and decided to take matters into our own hands. Now we enjoy helping other families find that unique gift for that special child, and putting a smile on their face. If we are honoured with the title of SavyMom Mom Entrepreneur of the year, we plan to use the award money to help us build out brand as well as upgrading some of our equipment to help us become more efficient with production.”
