Twice Baked POTaDOS

twice baked potados“Oh, hi. So, how are you holding up? Because I’M A POTATO.”

What would you have done if GLaDOS was placed inside of a potato right before your very eyes?  I have to admit, I got a little hungry.  All I could think of was how delicious that little potato could be… not baked once… but twice.

So with POTaDOS in one hand and Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device in the other, follow me into the Test Chamber Kitchen where we will learn how to make POTaDOS as delicious as her wit.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the recipe.

What you will need:

potados ingredientsTwice Baked POTaDOS

  • 4 POTaDOS
  • 1 stick of butter
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup cooked, crumbled bacon
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/8 tsp seasoned salt
  • black pepper to taste

Step 1:  Wash your POTaDOS, and place them on a cookie sheet.  Bake at 400° for 1 hour.

Step 2:  Slice the stick of butter into pats and place them in a large mixing bowl.  Or large spherical holding device.

Step 3:  Take your crumbled bacon and dump that right on top of the butter.

Step 4:  Pour your sour cream on top of the bacon/butter mixture.  Did you know you can donate one or all of your vital organs to the Aperture Science Self-Esteem Fund for Girls?  It’s true!

Step 5:  When the POTaDOS are finished baking, take them out of the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.  Then slice each potato in half, lengthwise.

Step 6:  Scoop out the insides with a spoon into the mixing bowl, being careful not to break the skin.  Any broken skin will result in an “unsatisfactory” mark on your official testing record, followed by death.  Good luck!

Step 7:  Place the empty POTaDOS shells back on the cookie sheet.

Step 8:  Using a potato smasher, smash all of the ingredients in the mixing bowl into one large mixed up pile of deliciousness.  Sprinkle in your seasoned salt, black pepper and half of the cheese.

Step 9:  Spoon the mixture into the empty POTaDOS shells on the cookie sheet.  Top with the leftover cheese.  The Enrichment Center reminds you that the Twice Baked POTaDOS cannot speak.  In the event that the Twice Baked POTaDOS finished potadosdoes speak, the Enrichment Center urges you to disregard its advice.

Step 10:  Bake at 350° for 15 to 20 minutes.  You euthanized your faithful Twice Baked POTaDOS more quickly than any test subject on record.  Congratulations.

Step 11:  The Enrichment Center is required to remind you that you will be baked, and then there will be cake.

Don’t get stuck in a Test Chamber without one of these:

Haha I like what you did with the pictures. I’ll definitely be trying these as I’ve been looking for a different potato recipe lately :)
