No wrenches here folks. This week, we’re talking about geek tools! Be you a crafter, gamer, photographer, etc. I’m willing to bet that you have an item or two that you can’t imagine your life without. Every geek has a weapon of choice, whether it be needles and thread, mouse and keyboard, paintbrush and canvas, we all have these special things that make our hobbies possible, and manageable. It’s about time we show some appreciation for all the smaller things in life! You can’t game without your trusty controller, and no more raging at 13 year old boys on Xbox Live without your headset. MMO’s without a mouse and keyboard, forget it. To my fellow crafters out there, try making it one day without a glue gun, needles, or paint brush of some sort, I dare you! The truth is, you simply can’t. I feature treasury after treasury, without ever taking a moment to acknowledge the small things behind every good item.
Creativity has always been a huge part of my life, so I’ve dabbled in just about all categories. As a child, before geekery took over, I was all about miniature crafts. I would make play dough feasts, and poorly glued/stapled ensembles fit for a tiny plastic Queen! (or King, poor Batman.) Back then my tools were whatever I could swipe from the kitchen without my mom noticing. Today my tools, and my crafts have gotten a little more sophisticated. I’ve strayed from art for a while, only drawing when I have particularly strong inspiration, but I will always love it. These days I’m usually torn between sewing hair bows for my Etsy shop, and gaming like a mad-woman on my Xbox 360. Though I’m pretty sure if you were to scour my house (which I don’t recommend) you would find most, if not all of these artisan tools featured.
This was such an awesome treasury to make, and I loved every minute of searching through items. I could easily make two or three more, but unfortunately I have to narrow it down for now.
