Two weeks ago Melvin,Charlie Brazen, our friend Danielle and Myself set forth on a journey through time and space and ended up on a strange planet filled with Super Heroes, Monsters and Baddies, better known as Comicpalooza.
My small business Custom Comix had a booth at this particular convention, so not only was I there on business, but it was a great excuse to go out and give Moms Basement a workout. I don’t think I could through one conversation without them asking about Melvin. He was popping out of my badge holder the entire weekend, and he was quite popular. I’m pretty sure I got cut off mid sentence a few times by “So what’s his story?” or “Who is this guy?”.

WARNING: Melvin is definitely a ladies man, which is probably why most the the men that crossed Melvin’s path tried to exterminate him. I assure you that no Melvins were harmed (badly) for the enjoyment of Moms Basement.
Melvin tamed a Dalek. Okay, so he didn’t tame it, the guy who was operating it was out to lunch… But yes! This Dalek was fully functional. A guy sat inside and could steer it around, move the zappers and could even TALK!
The Doctor was no where to be found, but no worries.. Melvin hopped onto K9 and all was well!
Melvin was so shook up over seeing the Dalek that we decided to go grab some coffee.. We weren’t the only ones trying to get a cup of joe.. Tank Girl took a second to pose with our dear Melvin. ( He was super fan-girling at this point)
You know what huge fans of the Walking Dead we are here in the basement, so of course Melvin had to get a shot with Chandler Riggs (Carl from The Walking Dead)!! He really took a liking to Melvin!
Melvin also loves True Blood– so here he is with Kristen Bauer!!
We were so fortunate to be seated RIGHT NEXT to the comic legend that is Joe Kubert!! Melvin got to meet him of course– and Joe was the sweetest guy!
The Ghostbusters took a break from busting ghosts to show Melvin a little attention.
Batman and Green Hornet roughed Melvin up pretty good…
But the Batgirls made it all better.
If you have seen the Avengers, you know Capt. America is an all around good guy. He was one of the only men that didn’t try to torture poor Melvin.
Like this Avatar dude. His costume was AH-MAZING.. He really pulled that bow back to kill! Thank heavens Melvin lazily yawned out of the way just in time to be spared!

Nightwing was stationed right next to my booth, so it was really convenient to send my fangirls over to him.. I felt bad for the hoards of girls I had been sending over to scream in his general direction, so I let him get some bro time in with Melvin.
Melvin didn’t mind the fangirls, or The Huntress!
