Melvin’s Geek Song of the Week 7-23-12

23 Jul

Do you dread the day computers take over the world?  Then this is the song for you!

The Song: “Computer God” by Black Sabbath

black sabbathThe Lyrics:

Waiting for the revolution
New clear vision, genocide
Computerize God, it’s the new religion
Program the brain, not the heartbeat

Onward all you crystal soldiers
Touch tomorrow, energize
Digital dreams
And you’re the next correction
Man’s a mistake so we’ll fix it, yeah
The Artist:   Black Sabbath is a British heavy metal band formed in 1969.  It’s best-known for its music with occult/horror themes, but many of the group’s songs deal with social and political issues.  This week’s song is from the latter part of the band’s career, having appeared on their 1992 album Dehumanizer.  Black Sabbath has been hugely influential in the world of heavy metal.
