My Little Pony… Poo!

Well I’ll be darned.  Unicorns do poop rainbows and stars!  And it seems that My Little Ponies do as well.  Melvin and I decided to join the My Little Pony craze and headed on over to Equestria to pick up a delicious recipe this week, and came home with a handful of poop.  A handful of tasty, sugary, glittery poop!  This one is for all of you bronies and pegasisters out there… we present to you: My Little Pony Poo (which tastes quite similar to sugar cookies)!

This amazing recipe is based off of this creative cook’s recipe over on instructables.  You will need:

My Little Pony Poo

• 3/4 cup Crisco soft shortening
• 1 cup sugar
• 2 eggs
• 1/2 tsp vanilla
• 2 1/2 cup flour
• 1 tsp. baking powder
• 1 tsp salt
• star sprinkles
• sugar pearls
• silver cake decorating gel
• food coloring (rainbow colors)
• paintbrush

Step 1: Mix the Crisco, sugar, eggs, vanilla, flour, baking powder and salt together in a large mixing bowl.

Step 2: Separate the dough into different bowls according to how many different colors you would like.  I made red, blue, green, yellow and purple.

Step 3: Drip a few drops of food coloring into each bowl and mix your dough until the color is spread throughout.  You can use a spoon to do this… I used my hands at first and ended up with green hands, so I switched to a spoon.

Step 4: Place your colored dough batches into the refrigerator and let chill for an hour.

Step 5: Roll your dough out into long snakes.  A floured surface comes in very handy here.  Place the different color dough snakes next to each other and smoosh them together a little.  Keep going until all of your dough is rolled out.

Step 6: On an ungreased cookie sheet, take each dough snake and form it into poop.  Be creative!  Haha, I can’t explain how strange it is to write the word “poop” in a recipe.

Step 7: Bake at 375° for about 10-15 minutes.

Step 8: Take your pony poops out of the oven and pop your sugar pearls into them.

Step 9: Wait until your poops cool, and then squeeze the glitter gel onto them.  You can use a paintbrush to spread the gel around, creating a gorgeous sheen on the pony poo.

Step 10: Now place your star sprinkles on your poo.  They are complete!  Hey, you haven’t lost your appetite have you?
