Melvin’s Geek Song of the Week 7-30-12

30 Jul

Every kid growing up loves dinosaurs.  For some, it’s just a phase; they’re really into dinosaurs for a couple of months, and then something else catches their interest.  But for some, dinosaurs are a lifelong love and obsession.  This song is for that second group of people.

The Song: “The World of the Dinosaurs” by Symphony of Science

The Lyrics:

Dinosaurs weren’t just giant lizards
But a truly unique kind of reptile

Dinosaurs roamed
For more than 150 million years
Dinosaurs roamed
In amazing shapes and sizes

Very few left evidence of their existence
And those bones never cease to fascinate us

The Artist:   John Boswell is the man behind Symphony of Science, which is a series of works consisting of audio and video samples of well-known scientists mixed with music Boswell has written.  There’s something quite mesmerizing about hearing profound quotes from the greatest minds of science set to soothing, peaceful, inspiring music.  Check out the official Symphony of Science homepage here!
