So excited to introduce the next treasury in my Geek Decor Series. Last week was Geeky Living Room, so this week we’re going to move on into the Kitchen!

As a girl who loves to eat, the kitchen is a very special room in the house for me, and I’m always thinking of new ways to decorate this sacred place of mine so I took to Etsy to see what wonderful treasures I could find and, as usual, I was not disappointed. There’s  Mr. Tea pots (which makes me smile every time I see it), Super Mario hand-painted glasses, and yes, I even found a Hobbit Door Lazy Susan..I mean, seriously, are you going to walk into a Pottery Barn and have them point you to the nearest Hobbit Door Lazy Susan? I don’t think so! But you should ask anyway, because it would be HI-LARIOUS!  And speaking of Kitchens, I have a geeky kitchen tale of my own to share…

My Kitchen History

When my hubby and I were first married we had this really um…interesting cannibal theme for our little apartment kitchen. Yep! A cannibal theme. I was really into The Texas Chainsaw Massacre at the time and it was Halloween season when we decided to decorate so we stocked up on fake limbs to hang from the ceiling and fake eye balls and organs to put inside little jars to decorate our counter tops, my parents and sister even made us a bloody butchers apron to hang on the wall so it looked like leather face himself was cooking up a storm in the kitchen (now THAT’S what you call unconditional support!), but we went on to have a baby and well…There’s a reason why there’s no hanging, bloody limbs in a Feng Shui book. So we moved on to simple looks and cute wall art and an awesome sesame street cookie jar that I use as a utensil holder (yep, a utensil holder with Mr. Snuffleupagus on it is the most mature I’m going to get!). But here’s to fun memories:

So take a look at OTHER ways you can make your kitchen stand out and show your delicious geeky side–no faux appendages required!
