Treasury Tuesday: Geeky Bedroom

14 Aug
don't fall asleep

“Whatever You Do – Don’t Fall Asleep Embroidery Hoop” by OooohStitchy @ etsy.com

Well, it’s time to end the Geek Decor Series, and since the bedroom is the last room you see before you go to sleep–well, in an ideal world it is. But you’re not at fault for falling asleep at the computer in your underwear while Castleville runs its own damn kingdom (not that I would know what that’s like). I figured it was only appropriate that we explore the bedroom for the last treasury.
How does one who dedicates their life to pop culture incorporate such interests into a calm, relaxing environment? Easy! There are pillows, blankets, and wall art that Etsy sellers have designed to give you sweet geeky dreams all night long….

Featured Items:

star wars

“Stay on Target” mobile by SaltyandSweet @ Etsy.com

Mobiles, people! Yes there are mobiles for us grown-up humans, and if you’re wondering if a mobile is really necessary at your age, then that just proves how much of an effed-up world we live in, where there’s an age limit to looking at beautiful things until you fall asleep. I demand a mobile revolution! My inspiration comes from an awesome Etsy store by the name of  SaltyandSweet. They made this awesome Star Wars mobile that I couldn’t resist including in the treasury and they have many more designs including a sweet Where The Wild Things Are mobile (I may have to own both!).

Metaluna Mutant

“Metaluna Mutant” fine art by HorrorHostMagazine @etsy.com

Maybe it’s my love for campy 50′s Sci-Fi movies, but I look into this guy’s big, mutant eyes and I want to doze off and dream of flying saucers with very visible strings attached to them. This work of art is by HorrorHostMagazine and I featured it because I just love the colors and I think it’s a great idea to incorporate artwork from classic movies into your bedroom. I happen to have a Dracula painting above my own bed.

bates motel

“Bates Motel Nightlight” by lucylambtail @ etsy.com

You may not want to stop at a motel in the middle of nowhere with a neon sign out front that reads “BATES” anytime in real life, but you can capture a little Alfred Hitchcock vibe in the comfort (and safety) of your own home with this super-amazing night lamp by lucylambtail. Psycho is one of my all-time favorites and I’m so glad that artists are still honoring this movie!

There are many more to take a look at and don’t forget to show some love and leave comments for these amazing artists. Sweet Geeky Dreams!
