During my time here at Mom’s Basement as the resident cooking geek, I have been trying to find recipes to satisfy the geekiest human stomachs… but I have neglected a very important stomach. Man’s best friend. I mean, where would Megaman be without Rush? In Fallout, the Wastelands are lonelier without Dogmeat. Your dog in Fable is an extension of you, taking on the characteristics that you have. And in Torchlight, your dog can take trips to town to sell your items for you, which is a huge help when you’re in the middle of a big grindfest. So in honor of all of the important sidekicks in our lives, here is a treat that will show them how much you love and appreciate them!
This doggone delicious recipe was found here, and has been taste tested by my personal sidekick, The Stig. Here’s what you will need:
Peanut Butter Dog Biscuits
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 cup rolled oats (can be regular or instant)
- 1 tbsp dried parsley
- 1/2 cup nonfat dry milk
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup peanut butter (crunchy or smooth)
- 1/2 cup and 1 tbsp cold water
Step 1: Combine the whole wheat flour, oats, parsley, nonfat dry milk and salt in a bowl.
Step 2: Add the 2 eggs and peanut butter to your mixture. Stir together.
Step 3: Add in your cold water. You may need a little more to make it dough-like, as it is a little crumbly at first. Knead your biscuit mixture.
Step 4: Form the dough into little walnut-sized balls, and then flatten into a circular shape.
Step 5: Place your biscuits onto a lightly greased cookie sheet. You can place the biscuits close together, they won’t rise and spread throughout the baking process.
Step 6: Bake at 300° for about 40 minutes.
Step 7: Show your companion just how much you love them! Shower them with cookies!
