I know it’s Monday morning and it’s a cruel time to be doing such a thing, but how many science/math/history references can you spot in today’s song?
The Song: “Atomes Dream in Technicolour” by Jetplane Landing
The Lyrics:
Read zero zero and counting down
I see Oppenheimer – he’s counting down
We’re built of fractions, chance, decisions,
A multitude of concepts
Found in books no longer with us – thrown away
And now fusion is upon us
Even atoms must relent
The Artist: Jetplane Landing is a band with memebers from Northern Ireland and England that was formed in 1999. They refer to their musical style as funk/punk/soul. Despite being a fairly new group, they’ve already recorded three studio albums (and are working on a fourth!) and have done quite a bit of touring throughout the UK. The band seems to love squeezing unusual/obscure histroical references into their music.
