Hello Basment Dwellers! Kimmie is back(for now) !
We all know Melvin does not have time for a dog or a cat. Hes got too many WOW characters to spec out and take care of, and you know hes already got the sims animal expansion.
So whats a man to do when he wants a living breathing pet but has no real free time? During one of his DnD games I took a trip to Toys R Us and picked up something from the SCIENCE Isle. I knew Melvin was going to love these little guys.
All I intended to get was some old school SEA Monkeys, but right next to it, I saw something that blew my mind. I had to get it, could this be real, how is this even possible. Aquasaurs? WTF are Aquasaurs? I bought both immediately.
Aquasaurs have THREE eyes, 170 Legs, grow to be ONE INCH long and have an EXOSKELETONS. HELLO how freakin awesome is THAT?!Oh and they have lived since the TRIASSIC period. So technically, they are live dinosaurs!
For those who never got the chance to grow seamonkeys or the sort, here is what Wikipedia has to say:
“They are a variant of Artemia salina(brine shrimp), a species ofcrustacean which enters a natural state of suspended animation, allowing their cysts (dormant saclike embryos) to be distributed and sold as a dry powder. When these “eggs” are poured into saltwater, the Sea-Monkeys start to come out of their cysts.”
Basically, It means that that they live in puddles, then the puddle dries up, they lay eggs, and when water comes back to the area, the circle of life begins again. Here is the kit I bought.
The sea monkeys take 5 days to hatch after putting the eggs in the water and watch them grow to about a quater inch. BUT…..I bought AQUASAURS too Remember?! The plan is to grow the Aquasaurs to full size(one inch) then feed the sea monkeys too them. A little mean I know, but Its what Melvin wants. Hes really into dinosaurs, Less into monkeys.
Its been 6 days since We’ve hatched the Aquasaurs and since they take a bit longer to grow, We started them first and 2 days ago We started the sea monkeys.

So we are sitting at Day NINE, the instructions say by next week my aquasaurs should be ONE INCH LONG. By that time the seamonkeys should be big enough to be aquasaur food.
Here is our main man watching over the little guys.
